The Labourers' International Union of North America (LiUNA) - Local 900 has requested that the occupation of Construction Craft Worker becomes recognized (designated) under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification (AOC) Act for apprenticeship training and certification purposes.

In early December 2013, the Provincial Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Board designated a new occupation call "Construction Craft Worker."  We have worked diligently to get his designation for the labourers and it will help make a clear distinction from a labourer employed outside the construction sector.

Now it's time for each member to review if they have accumulated 5,400 hours before December 1, 2013.
