Journeyman Certification
The Province of New Brunswick has opened a Grandfather clause for the Construction Craft Worker open for a period of 5 years. That period started on December 1, 2013, and will end on December 1, 2018.
If you are interested in obtaining your Journeyman Certification without writing an exam, you will need to prove that you have accumulated 5,400 hours before December 1, 2013, of construction labour work in the construction industry. It can be a combination of union or non-union work The first step is to get confirmation of your hours. You can do so by contacting the Labourer's Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada at 1-866-932-1100.
The Grandfather clause period will end without exception on December 1, 2018. All applications processed after December 1, 2018, will require applicants to write an exam to complete Journeyman Certification.
